Just Imagine That!

Can you imagine what would happen if a truly great leader of Gov. Warner's
stature stood before the American people and gave the following speech?"

I know many of you supported my opponent. I know that many of you may disagree with me. But I want you to know that if I become your President I will do everything I can to earn your respect and make you proud.

Your views and your patriotism will be treated with deep respect. And I will never use your party affiliation to divide you or to impugn your love of country. The politics of mistrust and accusation are over.

""The decency and willingness to sacrifice of every American, of both parties, will be something I will assume rather than question.

In an age of terror and insecurity, we will either prevail together or fail together. And when terror is vanquished, we will never suggest that this was either a Democratic or Republican accomplishment. It is a triumph we will share as Americans.

"Mean-spirited partisanship will always be a miserable failure as both political strategy and moral framework. And it profoundly misreads the majority of Americans who want desperately to be grounded and united in love of God and country, not joined in anger and resentment.

of Virginia three years ago when he first met Governor Warner and became interested
in his presidential candidacy.

These may not be the exact words of Gov. Mark Warner but, from all that we know, this is the kind of unifying message you can expect to hear as Gov. Warner reaches out to voters across the country.
